Review of The Awkward Thoughts of W. Kamau Bell

The Awkward Thoughts of W. Kamau Bell:

Tales of a 6′ 4″, African American, Heterosexual, Cisgender, Left-Leaning, Asthmatic, Black and Proud Blerd, Mama’s Boy, Dad, and Stand-Up Comedian

A wonderful book every Heterosexual, Cisgender, Left or right-Leaning, white, American should read. Actually it is a book every American should read. Kamel does a great job of living his own blackness, and showing this white girl greater insights into race and racism in our country. In sharing his life and his journey as a comedian, he also shows that when you find your own voice and not try to fit a pre-determined norm, much cooler thing can happen and better connections can be made in the world.

I look forward to seeing more of his work.
